The Jags lost 17-13 in the preseason opener against the Jets, but let's take a look at the good and the bad.
Good:
- The first-team offense started quick. In the game's first two drives, the Jags put up 10 points and faced only one third down. Quarterback Blake Bortles went 6-7 for 105 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions.
- Allen Robinson pulled in three catches for 80 yards, including a huge 45-yarder up the middle of the field. He showed aggression getting to the ball in both that catch and on a 19-yard completion near the left sideline.
- The running game was consistent and helped give the offense short second down situations. Chris Ivory, against his former team, had 6 carries for 26 yards and a two-yard touchdown run. T.J. Yeldon had four carries, also for 26 yards. Denard Robinson, who might be fighting for a spot on the roster, took seven carries for 23 yards. And Corey Grant had three carries for nine yards.

Bad:
- Special teams allowed kickoff returns of 51 and 84 yards. The latter setup a Jets touchdown to close out the first half.
- The secondary was shaky at times, giving up back-to-back completions for 26 and 43 yards on identical passes up the middle of the field.
- The Jags showed lack of discipline and sloppiness by having 12 penalties for 132 yards.
Notes:
- Luke Joeckel played exclusively at left tackle and the offensive line gave up a total of three sacks.
- Jason Myers was 2/2 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points.
- Jalen Ramsey and Tashaun Gipson did not play, but coach Bradley said they would have it it were a regular season game. Aaron Colvin left with a sprained right ankle and James Sample sustained an arm stinger.
- Backup quarterback Chad Henne went 8-9 for 94 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
- The sole turnover of the night was an interception thrown by Jags' third-string QB, Brandon Allen.
